Sachith Ravishka Kodikara, photographer behind SRK Portraits

Nearly a decade
behind the lens,
shaped by art.

I’m Sachith Ravishka Kodikara, the photographer behind SRK Portraits. With close to a decade of experience, I’ve built my craft through portraits, weddings, fashion, travel, and commercial stories across Sri Lanka and India.

A lot of that perspective was sharpened in America, where I worked, learned, and pushed my eye further. My background in graphic design, arts, and music gives each shoot a wider sense of color, rhythm, composition, and mood.

I work mostly in natural light, from Colombo to Galle Fort and as far as Tokyo. I like finding the right window, the right shade, the right hour, and then letting people be themselves inside it.

The approach

Every portrait has a world behind it— a mood, a movement, and the split second where personality steps into the light.

Most of my work is made in natural light: a window, open shade, the last hour before sunset. Real light keeps skin honest and lets people be themselves.

Good to know

Questions & answers

Before we
shoot.

Do you shoot in natural light?

Yes, mostly. I start with what the place already gives me: window light, open shade, and the soft hour before sunset. It keeps skin tones true and lets people relax, because there is no wall of flashes in front of them. When a scene really needs it, like a night street in Tokyo or a dark hotel interior, I add light carefully. Daylight is always where I begin.

Do you photograph tourists and travellers in Sri Lanka?

Yes. I photograph couples, families and solo travellers who want proper pictures of their trip, not just phone snaps. Colombo and Galle Fort are easy to plan. Places like Sigiriya, Kandy or the south coast take a little more planning, and we sort out timing, light and travel before the day.

Do you photograph weddings and destination weddings?

Yes. I photograph weddings, pre-shoots and private functions across Sri Lanka, and couples who come here from abroad to get married. I have worked in Sri Lanka, India and the United States and photographed a story in Tokyo, so I am comfortable travelling for the right celebration.

Do you work with clothing and fashion brands?

Yes. Fashion and lifestyle work is a big part of what I do, from lookbooks and campaign images to social content. Past clients include the Sri Lankan labels Adare and MOA, and hospitality brands such as Waters Edge, Sheraton Colombo and Galle Fort Hotel.

How much does a photoshoot cost?

Every shoot is quoted to the brief, because a one-hour portrait session and a full brand campaign are very different jobs. Please contact me for rates by email at sacithkodikara@gmail.com or on WhatsApp at +94 77 580 3911, and tell me what you have in mind.

Where do you work?

I work in Colombo and across Sri Lanka, and I am available for projects worldwide. I have photographed in Sri Lanka, India, the United States and Japan.

What language do you shoot in?

Shoots are in English or Sinhala, whichever you are most comfortable with. I am happy to switch between the two during a session.
